Books must sustain an inquiry, acknowledge relevant disagreement and make their evidence traceable.
Editorial independence
The press retains the freedom to examine difficult questions without adopting institutional or partisan scripts.
Respect for sources
Primary material, translations, images and data are identified carefully and used within applicable rights and cultural responsibilities.
Books made to last
Structure, typography, indexing, metadata and production are treated as part of intellectual responsibility.
